  • LittleVictory: interesting line
  • dreamz2009: less spectator here.
  • LittleVictory: yes
  • LittleVictory: but here is forming an interesting game
  • LittleVictory: tivi is rushing shirov`s forces
  • Zeblakob80: 3 only ...
  • dreamz2009: hehe. hello to both of you!
  • Zeblakob80: hi ...
  • LittleVictory: hello ;)
  • Zeblakob80: looks like an english with reversed colors : c4 e4 Nc4 Bb4 Nd5
  • LittleVictory: this game will finish fast ;)
  • Zeblakob80: c4 e5, I mean)
  • LittleVictory: very very aggressive game
  • LittleVictory: typical for shirov
  • Zeblakob80: c4 e5 Nc3 Bb4 Nd5
  • LittleVictory: i think shirov is hoping for endshpiel
  • LittleVictory: he has passed pawns and if they change queens there will be chances for black, but nothing is sure yet...
  • LittleVictory: still black is a pawn down...
  • Destrudo: but he has the bishop pair with a fairly open baord, it's good enough compensation. He can probably win the pawn back by force if he wants, but there's bigger fish to fry
  • Zeblakob80: The pressure on the g-file will decide the game.
  • Destrudo: yes Zeblak, agreed. The Bb7 is going to be a monster
  • Destrudo: Tiviakov is reknowned for his solidity. He'll have to prove it today; Shirov may be 3/3 by sunset!
  • Destrudo: is there no GM commentary today?
  • frogbert: Tivi is usually playing alapin
  • Zeblakob80: White has also some potontial counterplay: Black king is still in the center, and it is not clrear if he will be better with O-O-O
  • frogbert: nothing wrong with white's position
  • Zeblakob80: I do not like the idea of Rybka fist line: givving the black bishop for a pawn ..
  • Destrudo: agreed again Zeblak, I doubt Shiroc will play it
  • Destrudo: Shirov*
  • Queensindian: Bishop pair and open g file....maybe black can get away without casteling
  • Destrudo: surely its better to maintain the bishop pair
  • LittleVictory: yes in endgame is strong pair
  • LittleVictory: and black has the initiative for now with slight advantage
  • Zeblakob80: Destrudo, do you think that Shirov let his king in the center or play something like Qe7 followed by O-O-O??
  • Zeblakob80: Qe7 does make sense: it defends the c5 pawn and keeps the option to go to the K-side.
  • Destrudo: I think Qe7 and 0-0-0 is a little time consuming given the position - it's risky but leaving the king in the centre is probably the best bet to maitain initiative
  • Destrudo: for now white has no way to explot it
  • Destrudo: if anything Qh4 and 0-0-0
  • Destrudo: if back is going to castle. It would be good to get the h8 rook involved asap
  • Destrudo: sacs on h2 won't be out of the question later
  • Destrudo: sorry, g2
  • waustad: A first look at the position and white looks awkward, but black's king needs a good home.
  • LittleVictory: i think e8 for now is good home
  • LittleVictory: shirov will lose moves if he tryes to save his king
  • Zeblakob80: you have to think about the break f4-f5 ...
  • Zeblakob80: at the right moment, f4-f5 will distirb Black's king.
  • helipacter: This is a slugfest! Awesome...
  • LittleVictory: very interesting game
  • Simon5: -+
  • Simon5: black's king?
  • helipacter: 0-0-0?
  • LittleVictory: if he do 0-0-0 i think the king will be more valnurable
  • Simon5: with th rook on a2
  • Zeblakob80: f5 is the only hope to creat counterplay, I guess.
  • helipacter: yeah, I supppose a6 will become a huge target, but with wouldn't it be worse to 0-0?
  • LittleVictory: i think Ke7 is best
  • LittleVictory: there is a threat by Bg5 but i think shirov won`t be disturbed by that
  • MrMagoo: Qh5 to me
  • LittleVictory: Qh5 is strong - pinning h7 and c5
  • Simon5: white has equal chances of attack
  • LittleVictory: Bb2 is strong too
  • Simon5: for as long as he continue to parry black's attack wth some counterplay
  • Zeblakob80: f5 could be combinted with Qe2 asking a question to Black's king ...
  • Simon5: then Bd5
  • LittleVictory: and c4...
  • Simon5: black is controlling important diagonals though
  • Simon5: c4 will be strong.i agree
  • LittleVictory: white will become more passive
  • Zeblakob80: may be c4 b4 and white's pawn on the Q-side become a real target (look at the colors of the bishops) ...
  • LittleVictory: i think shirov is trying to smash the kingside not the queenside ;)
  • Zeblakob80: The nature of the position favours the style of Shirov, even if it is equal.
  • LittleVictory: yes
  • LittleVictory: i like shirov much
  • Zeblakob80: LittleVictory, I have his book on his best games. In 1998 I was dispointed about the annulation of Kasparov-Shirov match..
  • RoepStoep: annulation? that must be a dutchism :p
  • LittleVictory: shirov
  • Zeblakob80: Kasparov did not treated Shirov with great respect, he said that this match in not interesting because shirov lost almot all his games against kasparov. But in the 1998 Shirov was at his best
  • LittleVictory: as i know
  • LittleVictory: has the best move in all of history
  • LittleVictory: ever played
  • LittleVictory: and he is not weak
  • Zeblakob80: do you mean Shirov Bh3??
  • LittleVictory: something like that
  • LittleVictory: in endgame
  • Zeblakob80: agaisnt Topalov....
  • LittleVictory: i don`t remember ;)
  • LittleVictory: but shirov is a chess god
  • LittleVictory: he must not be taken lightly
  • LittleVictory: like kasparov said...
  • Zeblakob80: I was verry happy when Shirov smashed Kramnik in 1998, in the finale cadidate match.
  • Destrudo: Shrov is a tactical wizrd and endgame master; he won Mtel this year - he's one of the best living players, no doubt about it
  • Destrudo: sorry, last year
  • LittleVictory: yes 2009 ;)
  • Zeblakob80: Shirov, in his youth, studyed the games of Tal ...
  • LittleVictory: he is form latvia ;)
  • LittleVictory: like tal
  • Zeblakob80: yes ... yes ...
  • LittleVictory: his style is similar to tal
  • helipacter: well, Tal was one of his coaches...
  • helipacter: He does like the drink and the women, like Tal...
  • Zeblakob80: I think that Tiviakov is sleeping now. Can one wake him?
  • LittleVictory: haha
  • LittleVictory: kramnik said
  • LittleVictory: if a man thinks much than 20 minutes per move, then something is wrong
  • Zeblakob80: it should be therefore a more than 20 minutes of hesitation ...!!
  • Zeblakob80: It happend to kasparov in seville 1987, when he tought more than 1hours againt a novelty of karpov in the English, which was prepared againt Korchnoi in the 1980's ..
  • LittleVictory: yes
  • LittleVictory: this destroys human`s brain
  • LittleVictory: we are not computers
  • LittleVictory: hydra calculates 200 000 000 positions per second...
  • Zeblakob80: may one think more than an hour and calculate only a variation of 4 moves .. lol ..
  • LittleVictory: ;)
  • LittleVictory: naiditsch is very upset in his game
  • LittleVictory: so tivi playes at last Qh5
  • helipacter: as you predicted LV
  • LittleVictory: this is a strong move
  • LittleVictory: no this
  • LittleVictory: was not my prediction
  • helipacter: sorry, Mr Magoo predicted, you confirmed it was a strong move...
  • LittleVictory: i only admit that this move is strong
  • LittleVictory: ;)
  • LittleVictory: now i think shirov will work for queenside a bit
  • LittleVictory: c4 or Rd8 these are the strongest lines i think
  • LittleVictory: shirov needs the d1 square
  • LittleVictory: tivi will take h7 i think
  • LittleVictory: he keeps d3 and attacks the rook on g8
  • Randall: black is better
  • LittleVictory: definetly
  • Garnoth: nice complicated game by Shirov, the guy never ceases to amaze me, he can create complications out of the dullest positions!
  • Zeblakob80: a perpetual for White is comming ...
  • helipacter: Zeb: Do you think that Shirov would take a draw here?
  • Simon5: Shirov is palying good chess
  • moosey: question is whose king is the safest... i guess right now its blacks
  • LittleVictory: shirov won`t accept a draw i think
  • Zeblakob80: helipacter,Shirov is playing for a win .. I think.
  • Simon5: Shirov will sacrifice a couple of pawns
  • Simon5: for the attack on d1 ang g2
  • Simon5: 0-0-0 is coming
  • Zeblakob80: This reminds me the games Kramnik-Anand in the WCC2008, when Anand let his king in the center with open g-file
  • Simon5: the rook on a2 is needs some action otherwise white is rook down
  • LittleVictory: if tivi takes h7 shirov will play 0-0-0 then
  • Zeblakob80: the a2 rook is doing a strange job: it supports the possible Bb3 and ptotects the g2 pawn in case of emmergency ..
  • Zeblakob80: Bb2
  • LittleVictory: oh i am wrong
  • LittleVictory: shirov will use the b3 square
  • LittleVictory: after cxb3
  • Grace: i like shirov here
  • Grace: 2bishops in an open game plus an open file
  • Grace: wow
  • Zeblakob80: Bb2 sould lead to simplification ...since Qe3 is not good
  • Zeblakob80: f5 with a sharp game ...
  • Zeblakob80: I have to recall that a complicated game is not necessary sharp ...
  • Zeblakob80: a game can be complicated but not sharp enought. Tal has the mastery to creat both sharp and complicated games ...
  • LittleVictory: shirov is not tal ;)
  • LittleVictory: at that time there were no computers
  • LittleVictory: and this sacrifices was not so well studied
  • LittleVictory: i cannot say that for today
  • Pam: Go Shirov Go!
  • Randall: blunder
  • LittleVictory: Bd5 followed by Qe5..
  • Zeblakob80: I was looking at the f4-f5 from the begining of the game. If he will not play it I will be dispointed ...
  • LittleVictory: i think shirov missed the chance
  • LittleVictory: it looks like and endgame now
  • Zeblakob80: maybe the drawback of f4-f5 is to decrease the mobility of the white queen
  • LittleVictory: if Black queen goes to a1 the white queen will be forced to go back to defend this pasive bishop
  • Zeblakob80: LittleVictory, how can Black Q go to a1? do you me that black allows Rxc4?
  • LittleVictory: yes
  • LittleVictory: a6 is a passed pawn too
  • LittleVictory: i don`t know what shirov has in his mind
  • LittleVictory: he might make a 0-0-0
  • Zeblakob80: 0-0-0? Rxc4+
  • LittleVictory: after that i mean
  • Zeblakob80: yes ....
  • joram8: Rc8
  • LittleVictory: but shirov will be weak in endgame
  • LittleVictory: so he must not change queens
  • joram8: and shirov is better in the final
  • joram8: otherwise it must be draw
  • LittleVictory: draw is good oportunity for black, but i think shirov don`t want a draw
  • Zeblakob80: My trainer asked me to take a rest of 2 weeks and never look at the chessboard ... it is hard to refrain from chess ..
  • LittleVictory: zablakob definetly ;)
  • joram8: the only problem for shirov could be time
  • LittleVictory: he had problems yesterday with the time..
  • moosey: Bd5 seems to be the only move here, why the wait?
  • joram8: Rc8 is better
  • LittleVictory: cuz there will be engame after that
  • LittleVictory: when Qe5
  • LittleVictory: shirov will lost the initiative
  • joram8: i think that shirov is winnig the initiative now
  • joram8: I don't like Bd5
  • LittleVictory: now f5?
  • joram8: yes littleVictory
  • LittleVictory: definetly
  • LittleVictory: tiviakov is not a coward
  • LittleVictory: very cool game
  • Zeblakob80: finnaly the break f4-f5 ...
  • joram8: e5!! shirov on fire!
  • malachy: omg he pushed the pawn one step forward!
  • LittleVictory: insane ;)
  • Zeblakob80: Randi, are you here ???
  • LittleVictory: the most impressive game today
  • joram8: now the game is unclear, too many posibylities
  • joram8: g3 is profilactic move for white
  • joram8: qxh7
  • joram8: ?!
  • Gowe: I like Qxh7, the position is too complex and Shirov won't have time to analyse every possibilty; hence, Tiviakov has good chances
  • joram8: but Kd7 and black has a very hard atack
  • Gowe: Of course, you are absolutely right
  • Gowe: and Shirov saw it
  • Zeblakob80: dxc4!!! Qd1#
  • Zeblakob80: pleas dxc4 .. please ...
  • Gowe: lol
  • joram8: the white queen is out place
  • malachy: accidently touch the d-pawn!
  • Zeblakob80: bye, I have to go to the club to see nice girls playing chess ..
  • Gowe: Oh, my god, Zebla, that won't happen!
  • Randall: which club is that?
  • Randall: hahaha
  • Randall: never heard of that before even after i played the last 3 olimpiads
  • Kaosso: chances for that seem to be about even with dxc4
  • moosey: well talking about nice girls, have you seen van wely's girlfriend?
  • joram8: f6?? for white because Rb8 and Rb1
  • dyolens: is it nice to talk about somebody else's girlfriend? hehehehehe
  • joram8: now black is better
  • joram8: Rb8 is very strong for black
  • Pam: Go Shirov! Go!
  • joram8: black pieces are well coodinated
  • joram8: now tiviakov see that Qxh7 was weak and is thinking a lot of time
  • Randall: psycho chess
  • joram8: white moves: f6, h3, Qh3 seems bad all of them
  • joram8: finally f6 seems the best for white in order to open lines for the black king
  • joram8: but not -0,26 is much better for black
  • alnoth: has tiviakov fallen asleep?
  • joram8: no good moves for white
  • joram8: Bxg2 and black is winning but not so easy to see, easy for machine not for human
  • Pam: Great! Shirov is doing really great! Go Shirov! :)
  • begt: he found Bxg2.. good job
  • Pam: :) Go Shirov Go!
  • alnoth: so how is Rxg2 instant loss, i dont see it
  • siamesedream: 3 of 3 - what a start
  • Gowe: 3 games, 3 wins, the board is on fire!!
  • begt: shirovs to tactical to miss a move like Bxg2+
  • DrZaius: what's the trouble with 25. Rxg2 Rxg2 26. Kxg2 ?
  • Randall: disappointing day for Tiviakov
  • frogbert: Bg2 is easy, the hard part is the work before
  • Bastiaan: Rxg2 Rxg2 Kxg2 Rg8
  • frogbert: DrZaius: Rg8+ and f.e. after Ke2 cxe is already winning
  • DrZaius: I see, thanks
  • alnoth: after rg8+ why not Bg5
  • frogbert: good questuin but then Qe3 looks very good
  • Bastiaan: Qg4+ and the capture Bg5
  • frogbert: that looks better lol
  • alnoth: ah, right
  • frogbert: Tivi relinquishing control of g8 is sort of strange decision
  • Pam: Shirov is winning again guys :))
  • monozevich: tiviakov is a duck
  • joram8: black is better but not won
  • zaifrun: yes, but look at the time...
  • tax77: blunder
  • vaughn: tiviakov is suicidal
  • vaughn: game over
  • lukacsy: Shirov: 3/3
  • ilhamz: its over
  • joram8: Aa3??
  • monozevich: how lo lose with white in 25 moves
  • alnoth: oh well,,, checkmate
  • MrMagoo: mono, you made me laugh..... but poor Tiviakov, he saw he was lost already
  • siamesedream: 0-1
  • siamesedream: Shirov - Smeets tomorrow
  • waustad: Tomorrow Tiviakov gets black against kramnik
  • corcunda_fish: finish him!
  • MrMagoo: no purpose to continue the agony
  • siamesedream: now he will resign
  • corcunda_fish: what Tiviakov intends to??
  • siamesedream: he wants to be mated
  • begt: play to mate
  • alnoth: hes a good sport, wants to give shirov the mate
  • begt: no he resigned :)
  • corcunda_fish: Ok, I like when ends with #
  • corcunda_fish: :)
  • Pam: Great!!! :))
  • super12345: Shirov might win Corusif this keeps up
  • MrMagoo: so, the game was over around move 20 or 21, but Tiviak wanted to make sure it was over.
  • alnoth: even if it doesnt... 3/3 is excellent, he can win with a couple of draws too
  • ilhamz: remember when shirov win a match against judith 5.5-0.5?
  • ilhamz: deja vu
  • joram8: only one mistake 23.Qxh7 and all finished
  • Pam: 5.5 - 0.5? Really? When?
  • ilhamz: 13..14 years ago
  • ilhamz: when shirov challenging kasparov for wc
  • Pam: wow!
  • ilhamz: welcome back sirov!
  • Pam: :))
  • Grace: nice game shirov
