London Chess Classic 2014 Classic
Dec 10, 2014 – Dec 14, 20146. Final Ranking and Tie Break Rules
Sofia Rules will apply with three points for a win and one point for a draw. The final ranking of the competition is decided by the highest number of points scored. If the number of points scored by two or more players is equal, tie break rules will be applied in the following order but only to determine the final ranking. In the event of ties, all prize money will be shared.
1. Number of games won.
2. Number of games won with Black.
3. Result of the game(s) between the tied players.
If there is a tie for first place and it cannot be broken by the above, the destination of the winner’s trophy will be reached in over the board play. The tie break for the trophy will consist of one or more Armageddon games, 6 minutes + 2 seconds per move for White, versus 5 minutes + 2 seconds per move for Black, with draw odds for Black.
