Czech Extraliga 2017

The Czech Extraliga is a strong team competition in which the favourites are 2013 European Club Cup winners Novy Bor. Twelve teams compete in matches on eight boards, over eight rounds on four weekends. The league culminates in a final weekend of three rounds where all teams play together in one location followed by the closing ceremony held after the last round. Each match-winning team receives three points, while in case of a draw each team earns one point. The two teams finishing last are relegated to a lower league. Players have 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an additional 30-second increment from move one.
