dMP Batavia Chess Tournament 2019

he 11th dMP Batavia Chess Tournament will take place from February 28th (opening) till March 10th.

New Format

It is still a 10-player Round Robin, but we will introduce a tiebreak before the start of the classical game!

The day starts with two blitz games. if that's a tie, then we will play an Armageddon. After that we will play the classical. 

– The winner of the classical game will get 2 points.
– The loser of the classical game will get 0 points.
– Only in case of a draw in the classical game, we will look at the tiebreak.
— The winner of the tiebreak will get 1 point (which is still half of a classical win).
— The loser of the tiebreak will get only 0.5 point. 

Time controls:
Blitz: 5 minutes + 3 seconds increment
Armageddon: White has 5 minutes, black has 4 minutes, with a 3 second increment after move 60. Black has draw odds.
Classical: 40 moves in 90 minutes plus 30 minutes for all remaining moves with 30 seconds per move from move 1)

Games start at 12 UTC.

March 6 is a rest day.
