Grand Chess Tour Superbet Chess Classic Romania 2021

After it was canceled altogether in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Grand Chess Tour returns in 2021. The first tournament is the Superbet Chess Classic and takes place June 3-15 at the Sheraton Bucharest hotel for a $325,000 prize fund.

The format is a 10-player round-robin. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with a 30-second increment per move, starting from move one.
