Magistral de Salamanca 2021

The third Salamanca Chess Festival takes place February 2-6, 2021 in Salamanca, Spain. Besides a number of lectures and discussions about cultural and pedagogical aspects of chess, the festival includes a rapid tournament.

The field has four male and four female players, with GMs Veselin Topalov, David Anton, and Alexei Shirov as the top seeds.

The format is an 8-player round-robin. The time control is 40 minutes plus a 5-second increment for the whole game. Tiebreak: 1) mutual result, 2) number of victories, 3) Sonnenborg-Berger, 4) drawing of lots.
